Norske Backer continues to grow, and we have therefore strengthened our team with a new sales engineer, Henrik, who joined us in May 2024.\nHenrik has a solid background in electrical engineering and automation and will play an important role in meeting the increasing demand for customized control systems. He is also working with all of our product groups, making him a valuable asset to the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increased demand<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The reason for hiring Henrik is simple \u2013 we have experienced significant growth in demand for electrical control systems<\/a>, especially for products that we develop and produce ourselves. \"In short, we mainly specialize in custom production of heating solutions for the process industry, offshore, and marine sectors,\" says Sales and Marketing Manager, Stian. \"We have five sales engineers, all of whom must handle a broad range of products, though we do divide some responsibilities. For example, some focus on air heating, while others primarily manage liquid heating.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One key reason for hiring Henrik is the increased demand in the electrical department, where Espen has previously had the main focus. \" We have seen a significant increase in demand for control systems for all our various types of heating solutions in recent times,\" explains Stian. \"At the same time, Espen has been the only one with deep expertise in this area, which has made us vulnerable in cases of illness or market fluctuations. That\u2019s why we wanted to strengthen the team with a new hire who could help increase capacity and meet this demand. We chose Henrik, and he has proven to be a great choice.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From avionics technician to sales engineer <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Henrik brings extensive experience from various industries. \"I am trained as an avionics technician<\/a>with a certificate in avionics,\" says Henrik. \"I have worked at the Air Force's main workshop at Kjeller, as well as with AIM Norway SF, where I worked on the maintenance and repair of electromechanical components, circuit board repair, and overhauls. After that, I also worked as a service technician on forestry machinery, dealing with hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and programming. I also have experience in the crushing industry, where I worked with troubleshooting, safety systems, and process control on mobile crushing plants.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This unique expertise makes Henrik well-equipped to handle the challenges at Norske Backer.\nHe has already contributed to several projects, including the development of control systems for both standard products and customized solutions. \"I enjoy designing control systems and finding creative solutions for our customers,\" says Henrik. \"I love working with 3D printing and CAD design, and being able to use my technical skills to adapt and improve products is something I\u2019m truly passionate about.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of Henrik\u2019s ongoing projects is the development of a new PLC control system for a drying oven that we are building in-house. \"I\u2019m also involved in handling claims, where we review what went wrong and how we can improve our products going forward,\" he adds. This type of problem-solving is crucial for Norske Backer, which delivers durable, customized heating solutions<\/a> to demanding industry segments such as offshore, marine, and process industries. Several specialized areas in the sales department<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The sales department at Norske Backer is divided into several specialized areas, with employees based in both Kongsvinger and Moss. \"In Kongsvinger, we have divided sales between air heating and liquid heating, while in Moss, one of our sales engineers focuses on reselling products from other companies within the group,\" explains Stian. This division allows us to offer our customers specialized expertise in several fields while maintaining our strength in custom production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we were looking for a new employee for the electrical department, we sought someone with a background in electrical engineering and automation. \"We wanted a creative person who could be proactive and find good solutions,\" says Stian. \"Henrik has proven to be exactly what we needed \u2013 someone with solid technical expertise and the ability to think outside the box.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n
