We want to find solutions that allow materials and "used" products to have an extended life instead of being thrown away.

Wherever possible, we use recycled materials and also accept used products from customers. In this way, we can reuse parts of the construction that are still of high quality.

One of our partners is Protan, who send in heating elements to us for restoration and reproduction. The process involves removing the old heating elements from the flange and element support, drilling out the existing holes, sandblasting the parts and finally soldering in new heating elements. This is a type of assignment we carry out regularly, and the result is that around half of the heating flask is reused - only the heating elements are replaced.

When we asked Protan why they choose to reuse instead of buying new, they replied:

We take reuse seriously. We reuse the heating element flanges to save time, costs and the environment. But we also rely on you to replace the parts when needed to ensure good quality.

We want to highlight Protan as a good example of a customer who takes responsibility by investing in reuse. They also give us the opportunity to contribute to their important environmental work.

Our ambition is for more players to be inspired to reuse resources whenever possible - so we can make the best use of what we have.

Did you know that ...

In Norway, around 540,000 tons of plastic are thrown away annually, but only 24 % is actually recycled.

We also throw away around 1.4 million tons of wood every year, and as much as 1.2 million tons of this goes straight to incineration.

According to The Norwegian Environment Agency In 2021, approximately 11.6 million tons of waste was generated, but only 44 % was recycled.

Since 2011, material recycling in Norway has declined.
