After many years at Norske Backer, one of our experienced employees is retiring. We are therefore looking for a structured and professionally strong Certification and Documentation Manager who will have primary responsibility for technical product documentation and follow-up of national and international certification requirements in accordance with applicable regulations.
The position is central to the company and offers a varied and challenging workday, with close collaboration across professional fields—including quality, engineering, sales, and production—as well as with external certification bodies.

Work tasks:
- Overall responsibility for maintaining and further developing the company's technical documentation and certifications in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards
- Close collaboration with the engineering department and development manager to ensure correct documentation and compliance with requirements
- Ensure that the company at all times meets the requirements of national and international standards, including the ATEX directives and IECEx, as well as product marking and follow-up in accordance with UL and VDE requirements.
- Act as Norwegian Backer's point of contact with notification and certification bodies, such as Nemko, DNV, UL, VDE, etc.
- Lead and contribute to the work on document structuring and product certification, and ensure that the company is correctly certified at all times
- Keep continuously updated on changes to relevant standards, directives, and regulations for Norwegian Backer's product portfolio
- Attend industry-, certification-, and product-related courses and seminars
Qualifications:
- A degree in electrical engineering or electromechanical engineering from a university or technical college is a plus, but not a requirement
- Experience with documentation work, including the preparation of drawings, wiring diagrams, illustrations, and instructions
- Experience with, or knowledge of, control engineering
- Strong language skills in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written (English is the working language for much of the technical documentation)
- A good understanding of IT and experience using relevant computer programs and office support systems
- Experience coordinating product development and technical documentation
- Understanding of certification processes, as well as the ability to handle internal and external audits
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical standards and directives
- Relevant experience can make up for a lack of formal education—the most important thing is a willingness to learn
