Our social responsibility
Our social responsibility
The government has worked out a report about small businesses social responsibility. The core of a company’s social responsibility is the responsibility the companies should take for human beings, the society and environment that is affected by the company, and the consequences this might have. Social responsibility is about understanding the possibilities the company has to organize their business to do good towards the society, and at the same time understand the various ways the company might come in conflict with other interests. The UN has included and put weight on the company’s voluntary activities in their definition.
As part of our sustainability work, we are concerned with taking care of our social responsibility, and you can read about how we work on this on this page.

We have some chosen values that stand strong in our company, which are our “Code of Conduct”. These are:

We contribute to our local society through sponsoring sports via KIL or Røde Kors Hedmark, among others. Additionally, we are concerned with contribute to our own employees interests, and we have a policy where we sponsor various purposes where our employees are involved. This might be the soccer team of the daughter of a colleague, a colleagues sons handball team, or their own interests and activities.
However, even though we want to sponsor everyone who asks us, it is also very important for us that the purposes and activities are in line with our own values and goals. Therefore, we would not support and sponsor organizations or activities that goes against our work on sustainability, or that in any way may appear discriminating, harmful to the climate or similarly.
Our goal
Norske Backer has a goal to help other companies with the transition from using heating solutions with fossil energy sources, to be using electrical heating solutions. We do this through our service Backer Switch.
We have developed a sustainability strategy that are working as our work schedule for our work on sustainable development. In our strategy we have prepared our own sustainability goals we hope to achieve within 2028, and these goals are going to contribute to the achievement of UN sustainability goals. To be able to achieve our internal goals we have prepared a detailed measurement plan, where we have concretized specific measures that are going to contribute to achieving our goals.
The Norwegian Transparency Act
July 1st, 2022, the new law “Transparency Act” took effect. Norske Backer is a subject to the law and are therefore obliged to investigate and take measures accordingly. We worked on the law internally and published our statement in March 2023.
